On 25th January 2017, the Research and Innovation Office of Sheffield Hallam University approved seed funding for a FairShares Institute for Cooperative Social Entrepreneurship at Sheffield Business School. It was highly active for the duration of the EU funded project on the creation of FairShares Labs, and supported publication of the final project report in 2019.
The role of the FairShares Institute in supporting the development of the FairShares Model is described in an ‘Impact Case’ for the 2021 Research Excellence Framework conducted in the UK.
Shaping the Praxis of Co-operative Social Entrepreneurship through the FairShares Model
Thereafter, its support activities began to wind down, and ceased upon the retirement of Emeritus Prof Rory Ridley-Duff from Sheffield Hallam University in 2021.
